Movie posters analyse
The Conjuring - This poster is very well done because of the many different features, this would be the font, the background and what is included in the main feature of the photo. The background is very effective because it has uses the colour black to illustrate the darkness of this whole movie, whilst perceiving the setting of the movie and what it could be about. As i have seen the movie however I can confirm that the doll in the middle sitting on the possessed women's lap has minimal input in the film but leads to a sequel. The doll however has a main part to play in the beginning of the movie so slightly hints to it. Also by the costume you can understand the haunting theme of the movie, they have used this very well because of the clothing they have used; a white nighty that is smudged with black and very big back combed hair which reinforce the stereotype of being possessed. Furthermore the font used is very good because it stand up from behind the grey/black background. Also the have used a quote on this picture saying 'based on the true case files of the Warrens' which makes it far more interesting to watch and drags in the audience.
Key things to look for when doing our poster-
- Use the correct background for this, so make is darker
- Have a center piece to represent what the story is going to be about but not give to much away.
- Also possibly use a quote that could scare the audience a bit but also interest them. Both the posters I have looked at have done this
- Also possibly include the small print
